Hello quilling artist!

In this post I would like to present to you a quilling video tutorial on quilling letters.

Maybe you’ve never done a quilled letter before. You might think it’s hard to do.

I understand you! I’ve been there 🙂

But, I would like to encourage you to be brave! Try this!

After watching this video tutorials, I hope you’ll give quilling a try.

I have made 2 parts for this project:

  1. The first video shows how I shaped the letter, from start to final point.
  2. In the second video, you’ll see how I worked to fill in the letter using different shapes in quilling.

You’ll be able to see how I worked the whole project and how I found the right spot for each quilling shape inside the letter.

Quilling Letters Tutorial PART 1

How to start quilling a letter

My first impression on quilling was “WOW! What is that?”.

It was colorful and there were many shapes all in one design. I was fascinated!

I searched online and I started discovering more about paper quilling.

Almost 4 years passed and I am still in love with this art of curling paper.

Quilling letters (also known as Quillography) is something I started last fall, in 2014.

I wasn’t sure if I would be any good at it, but I gave this a try. My first quillography pattern was for the word {HOPE}.

Since then, I quilled more letters and words that you can find here.

Another beautiful tutorial made by Otilia, a young quilling artist, can be found here.

Personally, I move on to something else when the tutorial is video. The video tutorials make me nuts. I like written & photographic tutorials. I learn quickly from the, video tutorials usually require listening as well as watching. I’m almost never somewhere that I can have the volume up on something like a tutorial. Please do more tutorials – but please make them with photos & text.

Hi Kriss, thank you for your feedback. I understand you. Actually, i think I have just 1 video in which i talk. The other ones have just musical background. I try to work very clear and clean so people can just watch me quilling and understand how to do it too. I will take into consideration your advice and I thank you very much for it 🙂
